Huawei MediaPad M5 WP Tablet to Come With eSIM Support & Dual Cameras
Huawei has recently launched the 2018 edition of Huawei Watch 2 with eSIM support and Wear OS. Now, the company seems to be working a new Android tablet that supports eSIM. The Huawei MediaPad M5 WP is now spotted on FCC certification website revealing key details. At the MWC 2018, the company has unveiled three new tablets under the MediaPad M5 series called MediaPad M5 8.4-inch, MediaPad M5 10.8-inch, and MediaPad M5 Pro.
Now, the new Huawei MediaPad M5 WP will be coming with an 8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and sports metal unibody design. While there is no official confirmation, the eSIM variant of the MediaPad M5 WP might be sold in selected markets. The tablet will also be IP certified making it waterproof and dustproof. On the rear, the MediaPad M5 WP will be coming with 13MP + 2MP dual cameras. However, there is no LED flash for capturing photos in dark.
For selfies and video calls, there is an 8MP camera on the front. The physical home button beneath the display comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it might come powered by the last-gen Kirin 960 octa-core processor. It will be offering 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. With all these specs, the tablet should last longer with the 4,980mAh battery. The Huawei MediaPad M5 WP measures just 8mm thick and weighs 310 grams.
Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the curved right edge. It also comes with Harman Kardon branded stereo speakers for an immersive audio experince. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. It will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box.
