BlackBerry KEY2 – Everything You Need to Know
Blackberry is rumored to launch the successor to last year’s KEYone in mid-2018. We already saw several leaks about the company’s upcoming smartphone. It is leaked with the codename Athena and sports the four-row keyboard beneath the display. Recently, the device is also got certified by TENAA with the model number BBF100. Just like the KEYone, the upcoming QWERTY smartphone will also be manufactured by the Chinese-based TCL.
BlackBerry KEY2 with Dual Cameras Listed on TENAA

The successor to the BlackBerry KEYone will be called as BlackBerry KEY2. While the KEY2 design looks similar to KEYone, the company made few changes. While the power button, volume rocker, and convenience key are placed on the right edge, the SIM card slot sits alone on the left edge. On the KEYone, the convenience key is placed on the left edge. To differentiate the power key, the convenience key now comes with the textured pattern.
As seen on the BlackBerry KEYone, the upcoming BlackBerry KEY2 also comes with the same 4.5-inch Full HD (1620 x 1080 pixels) display and 4:3 aspect ratio. The space button on the fourth row will come with an integrated fingerprint sensor. On the rear, we can spot the dual rear cameras along with dual tone LED flash. The BlackBerry KEY2 is backed by a 3,360mAh non-removable battery. The device should be running on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
It measures 151.4 × 71.8 × 8.5 mm and weighs 168 grams. The BlackBerry KEY2 comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can further expandable using a MicroSD card slot. Talking about the cameras, there are 12MP dual rear cameras and an 8MP single front camera. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.
BlackBerry KEY2 Confirmed to Launch on June 7th

Last month, the successor to the Blackberry KEYone is listed on TENAA with the model number BBF100. As leaked earlier, the company will be naming this upcoming device as Blackberry KEY2. It is now officially confirmed to launch June 7th in NewYork. While the TCL will be launching the KEY2 globally, the Optiemus Infracom might release the KEY2 in the subcontinent including India.

The 3:2 display and 4-row QWERTY keyboard will be remaining same on both the KEYone and KEY2 smartphones. As seen in the TENAA listing, the KEY2 will be coming internal upgrades and design changes on the rear. The Blackberry KEY2 will be the first smartphone from the brand to sport dual rear cameras. Under the hood, the device will mostly come powered by the Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform.
While the US pricing will be revealed on the launch day, we have to wait for a few more weeks to know the Indian pricing of the Blackberry KEY2.
Latest: BlackBerry KEY2 China Launch Scheduled for June 8th
BlackBerry will be unveiling the successor to last year’s BlackBerry KEYone on June 7th in New York. Today, the company also confirmed the China launch event of its latest QWERTY smartphone to be held on June 8th in Beijing, China. The all-new Blackberry KEY2 will be manufactured and sold by China-based smartphone manufacturer TCL. While the BlackBerry KEYone was made available in India, we are yet to hear anything about the KEY2 launch.
We already got the first look with the TENAA listing of the device. It got certified by TENAA with the model number BBF100 and full specifications of the device are revealed. It might come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor which features custom Kryo CPU. While there is a four-row QWERTY keypad beneath the display, the company has been teasing about the inclusion of a new button.
