Lenovo A5 & K5 Note Smartphones with 18:9 Displays & Watch X Smartwatch Launched
Earlier today, Lenovo launched the Lenovo Z5 smartphone with notch display and gradient finish. It is priced at 1299 Yuan and sports decent specifications. The company also launched two new entry-level smartphones and a smartwatch. The Lenovo A5 and K5 Note smartphones packed with basic specifications and will compete with other low-cost smartphones from Chinese brands. Also, there is a new smartwatch called Watch X with smart and fitness-centric features.
Lenovo A5
The Lenovo A5 comes with a polycarbonate body and is priced at 599 Yuan (approx $94 / Rs 6,300). It sports a 5.45-inch 18:9 display with HD+ (1440 × 720 pixels) resolution and 2.5D curved glass protection on the top. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor and includes 3GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage. The Lenovo A5 sports a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP front camera with the same f/2.2 aperture. Both the front and rear cameras are accompanied by a LED flash.
It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery which should easily give more than a day-long usage. The Lenovo A5 comes with Android 8.1 Oreo-based ZUI 3.9 Lite out of the box. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device comes with triple card slot for adding two nano SIM card and one MicroSD card. On the rear of the device, we can also spot the circular fingerprint sensor. It measures 146.2 × 70.86 × 9.8 mm and weighs 160 grams.
Lenovo K5 Note
Compared to the Lenovo A5, the Lenovo K5 Note comes with a better hardware and also costs slightly more. The device comes with a metal body and sports a large 6-inch 18:9 display with the same HD+ (1440 × 720 pixels) resolution. It is powered by the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. The device comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants and includes 32GB and 64GB of internal storage respectively. It comes with Android 8.1 Oreo on-board with the highly customized ZUI 3.9 on top.
In the camera department, the Lenovo K5 Note sports dual cameras on the rear featuring 16MP autofocus sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 2MP fixed focus sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera with fixed focus and f/2.0 aperture. The Lenovo K5 Note measures 158.3 × 76.7 × 8.5 mm and weighs 176 grams. The connectivity options remain same as on the Lenovo A5 smartphone. Talking about the pricing, the Lenovo K5 Note with 3GB and 4GB RAM costs 799 Yuan and 999 Yuan respectively.
Lenovo Watch X
The Lenovo Watch X is actually a mechanical watch with smart features. It comes in two variants – Watch X & Watch X Plus. The band on this watch looks very similar to the Apple Milanese Loop band. However, there is also another variant with the leather band which costly slightly higher. The barometer and blood pressure sensors will be available only the Plus variant. It packs a 600mAh battery on this smartwatch is mentioned to last up to 45 days with basic usage.
The Watch X comes with a metal case and Sapphire glass. It is also water resistant up to 80 meters (8ATM) and will be a good companion even while swimming. The monochrome OLED display shows the fitness data along with active heart rate data. It comes with Blueto0th 5.0 connectivity for low-power consumption and faster data transfer. The users can shake the watch to capture photos with the connected smartphone. The Lenovo Watch X and Watch X Plus will be available starting from 299 Yuan and 399 Yaun respectively.
