The American smartphone brand BLU has officially entered the Indian market by launching the Win HD LTE and Win Jr LTE smartphones running on WindowsPhone OS. It already has a small portfolio of smartphones in the budget segment for Indian customers. Now a new smartphone named BLU Studio One is spotted on Flipkart. It was launched in the U.S in February this year at a price of $127 (approx Rs. 8,500). The same device is now available in India for Rs. 7,999 (Buy Now) and comes with a free screen protector and transparent back cover. It is available in Midnight Black and Slate Grey color options.
It sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a pixel density of 294 ppi. The device is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with Mali T720 GPU. It includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded via MicroSD card slot upto 64GB. This dual SIM smartphone supports 4G LTE that can reach speeds upto 150 Mbps. The device comes with an Aluminum built unibody design and is also one of the few smartphones to come with a unibody design at this price range.
Talking about the cameras, it sports a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. There is also a 5MP front camera with 84-degree wide-angle lens for capturing selfies. According to the listing, the device can record Full HD videos at 30 fps using the rear camera. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. It is backed by a 2,450mAh non-removable battery that may not last more than a day of usage. The Studio One runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and offers stock Android experience.
Recently the company also launched the BLU Life Mark smartphone here in India. It is exclusively available through Amazon India for a price of Rs. 8,999. Just like Studio One, the Life Mark also comes with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by the same MT6735 processor. It also has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Even the cameras on Life Mark are same as seen on Studio One. The only major difference between both the devices is the presence of fingerprint sensor. We can also find the Life Mark to come with a different design; it has the loudspeaker placed on the rear of the device.
It comes with a slightly smaller 2,300mAh battery. While the Studio One measures 7.7 mm thickness and weighs 152 grams, the Life Mark is slimmer by measuring 7.2 mm thickness but is heavier by 13 grams. The BLU Life Mark also supports 4G LTE along with other basic connectivity features. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming BLU smartphones.
