Samsung may push back the Galaxy S8 smartphone launch to April 2017

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

The Galaxy Note 7 Fiasco just ended for Samsung and now that people are eagerly waiting for the launch of Galaxy S8 smartphone, it looks like the company has some different plans. The Galaxy S8 smartphone launch which was scheduled for February 26th could be pushed back April 2017. According to the new reports, it looks like the company will launch the new handset at a dedicated event in New York in April. Not much info as to why the company pushed the launch is unknown at this point but looks like we will not be seeing the new Galaxy this time in Barcelona.

According to the reports, it is believed that the firm has taken this decision in order to work with some external agencies to clear out the air. After the explosion incident with the Note 7 phablet, it is necessary that the company comes up with some plans in order to recover the confidence from consumers before releasing a new product on the market. Although it might not look like a huge deal the company ended up with a huge loss. So the last thing they want is that the people are not buying their new smartphones due to safety concerns.

Also talking about the delay of this smartphone, one thing to make sure is that the news of the smartphone being delayed is not confirmed officially by the company. According to the reports, this news comes from a few participants at the global strategy meeting that the company is currently holding in its home headquarters in South Korea. Hence although it looks like a trusted source, we suggest you wait until we hear any news otherwise from the company about the launch of this smartphone. And considering the fact that the company unveils the smartphone every at an unpacked event in Barcelona, they could very well take the wraps off this smartphone at the same time itself.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to come with a major design overhaul with a bezel-less display like Xiaomi Mi MIX, etc. And while talking about this smartphone, it is also worth noting that the company is borrowing the display tech used in the Note 7 as well. And now with all this, we just hope that the Galaxy S8 smartphone holds quite well and regains people’s trust with the brand. We suggest you stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more details on this as we will update once we have more info.
