You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
LG had launched the Android tablets under the G Pad series with some decent mid-range specifications. In the first half of 2016, the company unveiled its latest tablet LG G Pad III 8.0 tablet. Now, the company came up with the LG Pad III 10.1 tablet which will be the successor to the last years LG Pad II 10.1 tablet. As of now, the device is launched only in South Korea for a price of KRW 429,000 (approx $361 / Rs. 24,500). The company also said to expand this G Pad III series in the new year by launching the LG G Pad III 10.1 LTE with Stylus support.
The LG G Pad III 10.1 is the first G Pad tablet to come with built-in kickstand feature that can adjust upto 70-degree. It sports a 10.1-inch IPS display with WUXGA (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is an unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with 2GB RAM. It includes 32GB of internal storage that can be further expandable upto 2TB. In the camera department, the tablet sports a 5MP camera on back and rear of the device. It comes with Time Square UX that makes the G Pad III 10.1 LTE tablet to be used as a desk clock, tabletop calendar, or digital frame.
It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and comes with built-in Microsoft Office apps. The ‘Reader Mode’ feature which is introduced for the first time in the LG G Pad series reduces the blue light to relieve the eye fatigue when used for a long time. It can be instantly activated by a pressing the Q button on the side. The company also added the ‘Monitor Mode’ which mirrors the smartphone display on the tablet. It comes backed by a 6,000mAh battery that might not give more than a day long battery life. The tablet measures on 256.2 x 167.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 510 grams.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It comes only in Black color option and as of now, there is no information about the availability of this tablet in the other markets. Recently, the company launched the LG V20 smartphone with Android 7.0 Nougat update, but we don’t think the company will update this new G Pad III 10.1 tablet to the latest Android OS. The earlier launched LG G Pad III 8.0-inch came with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The processor and cameras on the 8-inch variant are the same that are also used on the 10.1-inch variant.
we expect the processor on this tablet to be same as on the 10.1-inch variant. It includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot. With a smaller screen size, the LG G Pad III 8.0 comes with a smaller 4,800mAh battery compared to 6,000mAh battery on the G Pad III 10.1 tablet. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the G Pad III 10.1 tablet.
