BLU Life Max with 5.5″ HD Display & 3700mAh Battery Launched in the U.S

BLU, the U.S based smartphone brand is known for launching affordable smartphones with some decent specifications. Now, the company also started selling its smartphones in the selected European and Asian markets. Just before to the last holiday season of this year, the company came up with a new entry-level smartphone called as BLU Life Max priced at just $120 (approx Rs. 8,100). As of now, the device is sold only in the U.S via Amazon and comes in Dark Blue color. Though the Chinese brands offer even better specifications at this price, the non-availability of those devices in the U.S give an edge to the Life Max. It is one of the best devices for those who are on a tight budget and looking to get a new smartphone during this holiday season.

The device sports a metal finished frame with a removable back cover that has a faux leather finish. It sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display with a 2.5D glass on the top. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and coupled with 2GB RAM. It includes 16GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded via MicroSD card slot. With these specifications, the device can perform well with the regular apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter; but will be experiencing lags while playing heavy games. On the camera front, there is an 8MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP fixed focus selfie camera. Both the cameras are equipped with LED flash for capturing better images even in the low light conditions.

It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. On the rear of the device, we can find the fingerprint sensor placed below the rear camera. The device measures 154.5 x 77.1 x 8.7 mm and weighs 153 grams. The USP of this device is its 3,700mAh battery that is mentioned to give 3 days of battery life under standard usage and lasts upto 30 days on standby. It supports dual SIM dual standby and supports AT&T, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS carriers. Connectivity options include Cat.4 LTE,  Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. BLU is also offering a protective a free silicon case and screen protector along with the device. In case, if you are looking for an even better smartphone with a smaller form factor, then the BLU Life One X2 priced at $150 is one good option.

It comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. The device comes with a metal body and includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, same as the BLU Life Max. However, there is also a high-end variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is currently retailing at $180. It even sports better camera sensors; there is a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP front camera. It includes smaller 3,000mAh battery but comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
