Google investigating issues faced in some Pixel smartphones with Double-tap to wake feature
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
The Google Pixel smartphones have been in the news for the last couple of days due to its issues with the speakers. We had reported about it earlier where users are facing a cracking noise when listening to audio at full volume. It looks like there is a workaround for it. However, we suggest you wait till the company officially addresses the issue and launches an update to fix the same. With that out of the way, it looks like we now have another problem. According to a new report the company is looking into the issue where users are facing some inconsistency with the Double-tap to wake feature on some of the Pixel smartphones.
The Double-tap to wake feature which was added to these smartphone with Android 7.1.1 update, is not working properly for users. It has been reported that this feature is failing to work sometimes when the power saving feature Doze is turned on. If you don’t know what Doze is, it is a feature which kills all the background apps after a certain period of inactivity. It helps the device go into standby mode and save some battery juice. While it is really a great feature to have since it gives you a great standby time with your smartphone, these bugs are becoming quite annoying indeed.
As of now, some Pixel smartphone users have reported about this issue in the Pixel user community. According to them, this feature which is supposed to wake up the phone and show some notifications is not working properly and is being extremely inconsistent. On the other hand, if you are facing this issue, then you should not be worrying since Google is currently looking into this issue and it will soon come up with an update maybe which could potentially kill this bug. Well, that is a relief, right? We just hope the update rolls out quickly and they fix it as soon as possible.
We also expect Google come up with an update to fix the audio issue as well. It is again one of the most annoying problems found in these devices and we hope the company fixes it soon as well. Do make a note that the company has not given any exact date on the rollout of the update. We just hope they release it soon. If you want to know more on this in future, then we suggest you stay tuned to PhoneRadar for more info on this as we will update once we have more details.
