New Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air Laptop with 4G LTE Support to Launch on December 23rd
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
In July this year, Xiaomi launched its first ever laptop called as Mi Notebook Air. It came in two variants with 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch screen sizes priced at 3499 Yuan (approx $500 / Rs. 34,000) and 4999 Yuan (approx $720 / Rs. 49,000) respectively. Now, the company has posted an image on its official Weibo account teasing the launch of a new Mi Notebook on December 23rd in Beijing, China. Though there is no other information mentioned on the image, we can find the China Mobile logo beside the Xiaomi Mi logo. We can also find the 4G signal bar on the display of the laptop shown in the image.
With these details, we can confirm the device to come with 4G LTE support. Coming to the design part, we think the company will be continuing with the same design as its earlier laptops; however, the new laptop additionally comes with a SIM card slot. There are very little chances to see any upgrades in the hardware department of this metal build laptop. While the earlier launched 12.5″ and 13.3″ variants came with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, the bump in resolution to Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) might offer even better image quality and will also make the laptop a bit costlier.
The 12.5″ variant measures 292 x 202 x 12.9 mm and weighs 1.07 kg, whereas the 13.3″ variant measures 309.6 x 210.9 x 14.8 mm and feels a little heavier by weighing 1.28 kg. Both the variants came with a full-size backlit keyboard along with a glass trackpad. Both the variants include a USB Type-C port, HDMI port, USB 3.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Though these are same ports that can be found both the variants, the 13.3″ variant comes with two USB 3.0 ports instead of just one. One interesting feature of this laptop is that they can be unlocked with the popular Mi Band 2 fitness band.
The Mi Notebook Air runs on Windows 10 home edition. There is a 1MP camera along microphone placed above the display; it supports upto HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution which is good enough for regular video calling. There are dual AKG’s customized speakers with Dolby Audio support. While the smaller 12.5″ variant sports dual 1W speakers, the 13.3″ variant comes with dual 2W speakers. Coming to the performance of the 12.5″ variant, it sports a 6th Gen Intel Core m3-6Y30 processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz. It also packs 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 128GB SSD, and an integrated Intel HD Graphics 515 GPU.
On the other hand, the 13.3″ variant comes powered by 6th Gen Intel Core i5 processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.7GHz. This variant comes with 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD, and 1GB Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics card. As of now, these laptops are exclusively sold only in China, and we don’t think the company will sell them in India anytime soon. Stay tuned for more details!
