Xiaomi plans to bring Android 7.0 Nougat update soon to few handsets
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Google announced the Android 7.0 Nougat update the Google I/O event a couple of months back. Soon after that the newly launched Pixel smartphones, as well as the LG V20, were the first few devices to come pre-installed with this update. While only a few smartphones are currently running the Nougat version of Android, most of them are still running 6.0 Marshmallow and are waiting to get updated to the new version. We all know that it can be very tiring to wait for the update since OEMs usually take a lot of time to process through it. On the other hand, there are a few manufacturers who actually gives a constant update about the list of devices which will run the new version. And Xiaomi happens to be one of them.
This year as well, Xiaomi has shed some info as to which devices will be first getting the update. According to the company, the Xiaomi Mi 4c, Mi 4s, and Mi Note will be first devices to receive the update. It is quite unusual that the company is not promising anything for the new smartphones while they are talking about some older ones. Xiaomi did not mention anything about the newer devices like the Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, etc. But we do expect that these new devices will surely get the update, but we just have to wait until we get any details on that.
The above mentioned devices will be the first ones to get the update and it is expected that Xiaomi will release the Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 9 as well sometime soon. MIUI, as we know, is the company’s custom UI that runs on their devices and judging by some of the previous leaks, we can expect the update soon. It was previously reported that the update will start rolling out sometime between December to January. Hence we expect it to happen very soon. Xaiomi also confirmed their presence at CES 2017 show floor in Las Vegas for the first time. It is expected that they will launch a smartphone for the US market but not much info is available regarding the same.
And talking about the new smartphones from the company, they recently launched the Xiaomi Mi MIX smartphone in China, which is their bezel-less concept phone. It has a screen to body ratio of over 90-percent which is first of it’s kind in the smartphone industry. That said, let us know what you think about the Update program from Xiaomi and stay tuned to PhoneRadar for info on this as we will update once we have any updated list regarding the same.
