You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
As we mentioned earlier, we will be seeing quite a few smartphone launches from Samsung in the early next year. All these new devices will be launched before to the flagship Galaxy S8 launch. While it is expected to launch at the MWC 2017 that will be held in February, the latest leaks mentioned the launch date to be postponed to April. The recent rumors already confirmed the launch of Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro smartphone in China in January. Even the new Galaxy A3 2017, Galaxy A5 2017, and Galaxy A7 2017 will also be launched in January. Unlike the Galaxy C-series devices launch, the upcoming Galaxy A series devices will see a global launch. Now, the renowned leakster, Evan Blass has confirmed the launch of a Galaxy J3 Emerge in the U.S on January 6th. It will be available through Sprint, Boost, and Virgin Mobile.
In the international markets, it will be launched as Galaxy J3 2017. The Galaxy J3 Emerge runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the customized TouchWiz UI laid on top. Talking about the design, Samsung has completely changed the design of the J3 Emerge when compared with its predecessor, Galaxy J3 2016. Though it still comes with a polycarbonate shell, from the image, we can see the unorthodox camera strip with darker shade color. On the front, it sports a 2.5D glass which makes the device more prone get damage from drops. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display, and we expect it to come with a protective glass on top. One big improvement on the Galaxy J3 Emerge is its processor; it comes powered by Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor instead of the in-house Exynos processor used in the Galaxy J3 2016.
The device also includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There will also be a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. In the camera department, there is a 5MP fixed focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera for selfies. With the all these less powerful specifications, the device might give a day long battery life with the 2,600mAh battery. The display, battery, and cameras on this new device are same as on the Galaxy J3 2016. The currently available J3 2016 came with just 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. From the image, we can find the power button on the right edge and volume rocker on the left side of the device. It sports a physical home button along with two capacitive buttons on either side of it. We aren’t sure whether that home button comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor or not.
