Bose is an American based audio equipment manufacturing company and is one of the best names out there which is known for its high quality audio equipment. However now the company appears to be in trouble as it faces a lawsuit. According to the new reports which we have, the company is facing an acquisition for spying on users of its headphones.
This new lawsuit alleges that the company is spying on the users by tracking their music, podcasts, and other similar audios and is using the data for some kind of monetary gains. Once you install the app, it will ask you for your basic info like your name, email address, and your headphones’ serial number. The complaint was filed by a person named Kyle Zak. He boldly claims that the company is sending all the information to various external services from his smartphone. We don’t have any confirmation on this, however, collecting such data would allow the company to sell it to a third party or maybe use it for any kind of research, etc.
It has been reported that this case aims to extract damage cost for its users of the company’s products such as QuietComfort 35, QuietControl 30, SoundLink Around-Ear Wireless Headphones II, SoundLink Color II, SoundSport Wireless and SoundSport Pulse Wireless, etc. This, as mentioned earlier is indeed a bold acquisition and we have to wait how the company responds to this. As of now, there is no word from the company on this and we suggest you stay tuned for more info on this.
