Mi MIX Clone, the Doogee MIX Smartphone with 5.5″ Bezel-less Display Showcased

In the last couple of months, two major manufacturers Samsung and LG came up with their latest flagship smartphones featuring very thin bezels on all the four sides of the display. However, the Xiaomi Mi MIX launched in November 2016 showcased the awesomeness of the bezel-less display. Unlike the LG G6 or the Samsung Galaxy S8, the Mi MIX is marketed as concept device is sold in very limited quantities. Just after the launch of Mi MIX, many smaller Chinese manufacturers announced to bring the even affordable bezel-less smartphones. Doogee is one of the lesser known Chinese manufacturers to bring the Mi MIX look-alike device to the market.

Today, the company has showcased the Doogee MIX which looks similar to the Mi MIX in design but sports glass back body instead of ceramic. It sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display offering Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and comes with on-screen navigation buttons. Beneath the display, we can find the physical home button that comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. While the Mi MIX sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, the Doogee MIX packs a MediaTek Helio P25 (MT6757T) octa-core processor. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the customized UI laid on top. The device will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB of storage options.

The Doogee MIX sports a dual-lens camera setup on the rear with 16MP and 8MP sensors. For selfies, there is a 5MP front camera placed on the bottom bezel of the device. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. The Doogee also compromise over the innovative features offered by Xiaomi Mi MIX like ultrasonic sensor, and cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology. The company has somehow managed to find the space for the regular earpiece on the thin top bezel. With the AMOLED panel and 16nm Helio P25 SoC, the 3,500mAh non-removable battery should give a decent battery life.

It measures 146 x 69 x 8 mm and weighs 130 grams. The Doogee MIX also offers dual SIM support using the hybrid slot, where the user can choose for a MicroSD card instead of secondary SIM. It will be available in Light Blue, Jet Black, and Turquoise color options. The Chinese brands now started cloning Chinese device while we regularly see the Apple and Samsung clones.
