Xiaomi Mi 6 Smartphone Officially Launched – Specifications, Pricing, & Availability

After months of rumors and leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is now officially launched in China. Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi showcased the devices on the stage. This new device will be the successor to the popular Mi 5 smartphone which was launched at the MWC 2016. The Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus comes with Snapdragon 835 SoC, but they are only limited to the U.S and other markets will get the Exynos 8895 powered variants. Coming to the Xiaomi Mi6, the device packs only the Qualcomm’s flagship mobile processor, Snapdragon 835 SoC. One important thing to know about the Xiaomi Mi 6 is the lack of 3.5mm Audio port.

The device comes with glossy finish back body using the curved glass as seen on its predecessor, Xiaomi Mi 5. The thin metal frame around the device adds strength to withstand the bends. As rumors suggested, the company offered a 2.5D flat panel glass instead of the curved glass on the front. Apart from the regular Black and White color variants, the devices now come in Blue color which looks gorgeous with the shiny finish on the rear. On the front, we can see big bezels on the top and bottom of the device. A big oval shaped home button with integrated fingerprint sensor can be found on the bottom bezel.

The dual-lens camera is placed in the top-left corner on the rear and there is no camera bump as seen on other flagship devices. On the right edge, we can find the power button and volume rocker and on the left edge, there is a dual SIM slot. As seen with the earlier launched Xiaomi flagship, there is no MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
