Honor 9 with 4GB/6GB RAM & 12MP Dual-lens Camera Listed on TENAA
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Honor is all set to unveil its next-gen flagship device, Honor 9 as the successor to Honor 8. The recently leaked teaser image also suggested the launch event to be held on June 27th in Berlin. However, there is no official confirmation on the launch date from the company side. A few weeks back, the Honor launched the Honor 8 Lite smartphone in India with the single rear camera. Now, a new Honor smartphone with the high-end specifications is listed on TENAA. We expect this device to be upcoming Honor 9 and comes with the model numbers STF-AL00 & STF-AL10.
Just like its predecessor, the Honor 9 also sports the glass back body, but it newly comes with the curved edges. It sports a 5.15-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display which is slightly smaller than the 5.2-inch display on its predecessor. Though there is no bezel-less or the curved display, it features a 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood, we might see the in-house Kirin 960 SoC octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz. Based on the TENAA listings, the device will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants featuring 64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD slot for further expansion of storage up to 128GB.
Talking about the cameras on the Honor 9, the listing mentions the dual camera setup on the rear to feature 12MP & 2MP lens, but we expect it to include dual 12MP sensors as seen on the Honor 8 smartphones. Few rumors also suggest the device to sport 20MP and 12MP dual rear cameras. It comes accompanied with dual tone LED flash and laser autofocus. For selfies, there is an 8MP shooter on the front. Even with a smaller form factor, the device manages to include a slightly bigger battery with 3,100mAh capacity. It might also include the in-house SuperCharge fast charging technology.
The device measures 147.3 × 70.9 × 7.45 mm and weighs 155 grams. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with the highly customized EMUI 5.1 skin laid on top. For the first time, we are seeing a front facing physical home button on the Honor smartphone instead of its logo. It also comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor and might support gestures as well. Even the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus also came with the physical home button. The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge, whereas the hybrid slot is on the left edge.
Following the trend, the Honor 9 might also include USB Type-C port. Unlike the Xiaomi or HTC, Honor still offers the 3.5mm Audio port which is more convenient to the users. Since the unofficial launch date is almost a month away, we expect more leaks to come out in the coming days. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming Honor 9 smartphone.
