Samsung’s Galaxy A8 (2016) spotted on benchmark listing with Android 7.0

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) that was launched with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box has been spotted on benchmarks with Android Nougat 7.0 which indicates that the device will be getting the update soon. However the South Korean giant has not given any official word on the upgrade, GFXBench confirms the rollout will be starting soon. The device has not seen a big sale, but Samsung is pushing the update to this midtier handset also.

Coming to the specifications of the handset, the device features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display and will be sporting an FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels). To power the smartphone there is an Octa-Core 64-bit, 14nm Exynos 7420 processor coupled with Mali T760 GPU and 3GB RAM. There is a 3300mAh battery on the back to power the device and supports 4G LTE connectivity for faster data browsing speeds. The other connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.2 LE, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and GLONASS.

The onboard memory of the device is limited to 32GB that can be further extended up to a maximum of 256GB via microSD card. On the camera front, there is a 16MP camera sensor which is accompanied with 8MP camera on the front. There is also a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button for secure online transactions and payments. Well, the device that was listed on the GFX benchmarks has a model number SM-A810.

This will be good news for all the Samsung Galaxy A8 2016 users as their handsets are running on Android Marshmallow. With this update, the user will be getting many bug fixes and will also increase the app support for its users.
