You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Honor has launched the entry-level Honor 6A smartphone in two variants in China. It also came up with an Android-powered tablet called Play Pad 2 that comes in two different screen sizes. As seen with the Honor 6A, the new Honor Play Pad 2 also comes with very aggressive pricing. Both the variants will be available with both Wi-Fi only and 4G + WiFi connectivity options. Apart from the different screen sizes and connectivity options, most of the specifications are same on both the variants. Considering the affordable price tag, there are no fancy features like a stylus or the keyboard sleeve.

Both the 8-inch and 9.6-inch variants of the Play Pad 2 comes with an HD IPS display featuring 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. The tablets come powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and include Adreno 308 GPU. They will be available in 2GB/3GB RAM options with 32GB of internal storage. Since the affordable tablets are mostly used for media consumption, the user can further expand the storage using the MicroSD card slot. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm Audio port and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.

Even the cameras on both the devices include the same sensors. There is a 5MP autofocus camera on the rear without LED flash and a 2MP fixed focus camera on the front for selfies. The tablets offer video recording at a maximum of Full HD resolution. Honor hasn’t even changed the battery capacities on these two different sized tablets. They come backed by a 4,850mAh non-removable battery that is said to last up to 500 hours in standby mode. With the larger capacity battery, the tablet will be fully charged from 0% to 100 % in 4.5-5 hours.

The tablets run on EMIU 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Apart from the new features like split-screen multitasking, Huawei has also added few new features into their EMUI. The 8-inch variant of the Play Pad 2 measures 211.07 x 124.65 x 7.95 mm and weighs 350 grams. For comparison, the 9.6-inch variant measures 229.8 x 159.8 x 7.95 mm and feels a little bulky by weighing 460 grams. Coming to the pricing of the tablets, the Wi-Fi only variant of the Play Pad 2 with 8-inch variant costs 799 Yuan (approx $115 / Rs. 7,500), whereas the same variant with 9.6-inch display comes with a price tag of 999 Yuan (approx $145 / Rs. 9,400).

Talking about the 4G + Wi-Fi variants, the 8-inch variant with 2GB RAM & 16GB storage costs 999 Yuan, and the 3GB RAM & 32GB storage is priced slightly higher at 1299 Yuan. On the other hand, the 4G + Wi-Fi variant of the 9.6-inch Play Pad 2 costs 1299 Yuan for the 2GB RAM & 16GB storage and 1499 Yuan for the 3GB RAM & 32GB storage option. All the variants of the Honor Play Pad 2 will go on sale from June 1st only in China.
