The Essential Phone is pretty much everywhere on the internet. Everyone is talking about it especially it is coming from the father of Android. A few months back, Andy Rubin teased the smartphone on twitter post which everyone started losing their minds on how good it looks. While we only had a small glimpse of the phone, we now have our first look at the device and we must say it’s incredible.
Just as we expected, the smartphone comes with an impressive display which is almost bezel-less. It wraps around the front facing camera, all the way upto the top which gives it more screen-to-body ratio than the Galaxy S8. This is a QHD display which has a resolution of 2560 x 1312. The smartphone is made out of Titanium and Ceramic which makes it very durable and premium at the same time. The display is also covered with the Gorilla Glass 5.
It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and it comes with 4GB of RAM. It also comes with 128GB of internal memory out of the box. This is the company’s unique take on smartphone modularity as the company plans on selling the accessories that will connect to the smartphone via the metal pins at the back. In terms of the camera, we are looking at a dual camera setup at the back. This is similar to the one used on Huawei smartphones where one is a monochrome sensor whereas the other is an RGB one. On the front, we have an 8MP sensor as well which can shoot videos upto 4k.
