China’s Smartisan Might Launch a Bezel-less Smartphone With Rotatable Crown
Smartisan is one of the lesser known smartphone manufacturers from China. While the other Chinese brands are exploring other markets, the company seems to stick with the Chinese market. It will be unveiling a new flagship smartphone later today in Beijing, China. It is already confirmed to called as Smartisan Nuts R1. The device is now certified by TENAA with the model number DE106.
We also got to know the Nuts R1 to sport 6.1-inch bezel-less display. It is backed by a 3,500mAh battery and measures 152.6 × 74.3 × 7.9 mm. On the design front, the device comes with a four-sided glass back body with metal frame. On the rear, we can also spot dual rear cameras with dual tone LED flash. Under the hood, it will come powered by the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform.
As of now, there is no information available about this device. However, looking at the device renders reveal one interesting feature. The earlier launched smartphones from Smartsian came with the volume rocker and power button on the right and customizable hotkey on the left. On the Nuts R1, the hotkey seems to be replaced with a rotatable crown.
From the above image, we can clearly see the differences between the newly listed DE106 and the previously launched smartphone. While the Apple Watch is the first smartwatch to sport rotatable crown, the Smartisan Nuts R1 will become the first smartphone to embrace it. However, it is awkwardly placed on the left side. We think it easy to rotate with the thumb while holding.
Along with the rotatable crown, the company will also introduce new gestures within the Smartisan OS for navigating through the UI. As of now, there is no official confirmation from the company about featuring the crown on its upcoming smartphone. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
