Exclusive: LYF Smartphone Buyers to get One Year of Jio 4G Internet for Free
Reliance Jio is gearing up to launch its Jio 4G commercial services in the next few weeks. Currently, the company is offering beta services by offering free internet, voice calls, and SMS under the Jio Preview Offer (JPO). From early 2016, the JPO is exclusive to LYF branded smartphones which also come under Reliance Industries. But from last month, the company is expanding its reach by adding more and more brands under the JPO.
All the 4G smartphones with VoLTE support from Samsung, LG, Asus, and Panasonic are officially eligible for this offer. However, most of the Reliance Digital and Digital Xpress stores are providing Jio 4G sim free for every 4G VoLTE smartphone like OnePlus 3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le Max 2, and others. Interestingly, the JPO with unlimited 4G internet data, voice calls, and SMS is also offered for 4G VoLTE devices from all the brands.
LYF which started selling smartphones only from 2016 is ranked as fifth largest smartphone brand in the last quarter, all thanks to the JPO which is the major reason for anyone choosing an LYF device. As all the 4G devices are getting JPO, it’s no more the USP for LYF smartphones. But the company is bringing an even better deal to the LYF smartphones. All those who purchases LYF devices will get one year of free 4G data and the official announcement will be out soon.
Unlike the JPO, the users will not get free voice calls and SMS. Whatsapp, which is seen as an SMS replacement will also be used for regular voice calls as its has a huge user base in India. Since providing unlimited 4G internet free for a year is a huge deal, the company might put a cap of 75GB pre month. Unlike any other Indian service provider, Jio is offering pan-India coverage of its 4G network.
Once the deal is made official, Reliance will see a huge increase in the sales of LYF smartphones along with the increase in Jio 4G subscribers. Recently the company has launched its latest smartphone LYF Water 10 priced at Rs. 8,5oo. The device comes with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by an octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via MicroSD card slot.
In the next weeks, the LYF will also be launching Water 9 smartphone. It comes with a Full HD display but includes only 2GB of RAM. Both the smartphones are eligible for JPO and comes with two years of manufacturers warranty. Stay tuned for more details!
