LYF Wind 4S with 2GB RAM & 4000mAh Battery Launched at Rs. 7,499 – Exclusive

Reliance’s 4G smartphone brand, LYF has some good market share although it has started its operations only this year. In terms of the market share value, LYF is the fifth largest smartphone brand in India for the month of August. The major reason for the LYF smartphone sales is the Jio 4G SIM that comes with free with every LYF smartphone. Today the company has launched a new smartphone called as LYF Wind 4S as the successor to the LYF Wind 4. It is priced at Rs. 7,499 and comes with decent upgrades when compared to Wind 4 which is now retailing at Rs.6,799.

The Wind 4S sports the same 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) as on Wind 4. It is powered by the Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz. There is 2GB of RAM & 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot. For comparison, the Wind 4 came with just 1GB of RAM & 8GB of internal storage. The DTS powered speaker placed on the rear of the device provides a great audio output. Another major upgrade is the build quality of the device, it sports metal finish which we rarely see at this price range.

Coming to the cameras on Wind 4s, there is an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. Though Wind 4 also came with 8MP rear camera, it has only a 2MP sensor on the front. The device is backed by a 4,000mAh battery, same as on Wind 4. We can expect the device to last more than a day of usage with such a huge battery. The Xiaomi Redmi 3S priced at Rs. 6,999 is the other smartphone to feature such a large battery, it has a 4,100mAh non-removable battery. The Wind 4S will be available in Black, Blue, and Brown color options.

It is a dual SIM dual standby device and supports 4G VoLTE just like any other LYF smartphone. Now, the users also get a free Jio 4G SIM with the handset along with Jio Welcome Offer. The Jio Welcome Offer includes unlimited usage of 4G internet, voice calls, and SMS for free until December 31st, 2016. The user can also use Jio suite of apps for free until the end of 2017. As seen with other LYF smartphones, the Wind 4S also comes with two years of manufacturers warranty.
