Reliance Jio partners with Niantic as Pokemon Go officially launches in India on Dec 14th

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Pokemon Go, the game which took over the world by storm is now all set to launch in India tomorrow. This over hyped augmented reality game which puts Pokemon into the real world, will be officially available on Google Play Stores & App Store in India. So no more sideloading the APK or anything like that. While most people might have already played it earlier, it is finally good to see that the company has finally decided to launch the in India. And guess what? Reliance Jio has partnered with the makers of Pokemon Go i.e. Niantic and hence the Reliance Digital Stores and select partner premises will appear as Pokestops and gyms in your game.

It is quite interesting to see Reliance Jio joining hands with Niantic for this launch. While the game is mostly dead since most people have already played it, it will still spike some interest among the users. Pokestops and gyms being one of the most important elements of the game, this will be a great opportunity for them to attract some crowd into their shops. And yes, not to forget the users who will be using the so-called high-speed Reliance Jio connectivity to play the game as well. If you don’t know, Pokemon Go requires a stable internet connection to work as it uses GPS and built-in maps powered by Google Maps to show all the locations, etc.

The Chief Executive Officer and founder of Niantic, John Hanke stated that. They are very delighted to partner with Jio to launch the game in India. He also stated that Pokemon go is all about exploring the neighborhood and jio’s disruptive high-speed 4G LTE Network will be an excellent way to experience the same. While we can’t vouch for the high-speed connectivity, the game should be a lot of fun now since it will be officially available now and everyone can step out and play together. Talking about the partnership here, it is on the same lines of McDonald’s partnership with Niantic in Japan, back when the game launched there. The McDonald’s outlets were sponsored pokestops where people used to come in and hang out playing Pokemon Go, etc.

On the same lines, we can see some good number of people coming to these Reliance shops in search Pokestops and gyms. And not just this, Jio is also opening a special channel on its Jio Chat application related to the game. In this channel, players will be able to trade secrets, tips, tricks and other interesting stuff about the game. This is again a very smart integration as they are pushing their Jio chat application through this. With that said, let us know if you are interested in playing game again now that everyone will be having it ready to play. Stay tuned to Phone Radar for more updates on the game in future.
