Apple reportedly aims to sell over 200 Million new iPhones this coming year

After the launch of the new Samsung Flagships, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, everyone is now eyeing for Apple to launch the new iPhones this year. We have a lot to look forward to from Apple since we have a ton of rumors and leaks which suggest that we will be getting a lot of new things from the Cupertino-based tech giant. The new iPhones, however, are the ones which everyone is waiting for. In fact, the company is reportedly planning on selling over 200 Million units of the new iPhones in total.

According to the source, the company is aiming to hit numbers over 200 million when it comes to sales of the new iPhones. However, we don’t know if this prediction is just the iPhone 8 or it also includes the alleged new iPhone 7s variants as well. Either way, this is a huge target and we hope the company manages to impress the customers with something worthy of those numbers.

What’s more interesting is the fact that Apple wants to sell about a 100 million of them this year in 2017 itself. Now, this might sound like a crazy number to work for. However, the company sold a total of about 78.3 million iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus units last year. And given the fact that the new iPhones are so hyped, the numbers seems fairly achievable. But let’s not speculate around with what we have and wait for more info.

The sources also suggest that Apple is going to order over 50 million sets of chips per quarter. It has been reported that suppliers like ADI, Broadcom, Cirrus Logic, Cypress, NXP, Qualcomm, STMicroelectronics, and TI, etc. are working on stocking the inventory for the huge release. The production is further said to grow in Q3 to cater the needs of the launch demands. TSMC is also looking to enter mass production of the 1nm A11 application processor in the second half of the year. Looking at all these reports, it looks like Apple is looking to kill the game.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the new iPhone 8 is expected to drop in the market at around $850 to $900. This may sound like a lot of bills but considering the fact that it is going to be a limited edition or a special edition device, it should be well worth it. The other two iPhones, i.e. the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus are expected to retail for about $650 and $750. Having said that, it is indeed quite interesting to see how the year unfolds for Apple.
