Exclusive: Honor 8 Lite with 4GB RAM Likely to Launch on May 1st at Rs 17,999 in India

Back in February, we exclusively covered about the possible launch of Honor 8 Lite and Honor Bee 2 in India. A couple of days back, the Honor Bee 2 with entry-level specifications went on sale in the offline market for Rs. 7,499. Now, we got another exclusive information about the mid-range Honor 8 Lite smartphone. It is already on sale in few of the European markets as Huawei P8 Lite 2017 and Huawei Nova Lite. As per our source, the Honor 8 Lite will be available in the Indian market from May 1st which is just a couple of weeks away.
Unlike the other variants of the Honor 8 Lite that packs just 3GB of RAM, the Indian variant will sport 4GB of RAM. There will be 64GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded via MicroSD card slot. Apart from skipping the dual camera setup, the Honor 8 Lite looks similar to Honor 8 with the 2.5D curved glass laid on front and back of the device. There is a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the in-house Kirin 655 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-T830. The popular mid-range device, Honor 6X with dual camera setup also uses the same Kirin 655 SoC.
It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS with the customized EMUI 5.0 laid on top. In the camera department, the Honor 8 Lite sports a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP front camera with wide-angle lens for selfies and video calls. It measures 137.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm and weighs 147 grams. There is also a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear that also supports gestures for accessing notification panel or capturing photos in the camera app. It supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid sim slot where the user can add two SIM card or a single SIM card and a MicroSD card.
Coming to the pricing, the Honor 8 Lite 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage will be priced at Rs. 17,999. The earlier launched Honor 8 with the high-end specifications and dual camera setup is still retailing at Rs. 29,999.
