ZTE Axon 7s Smartphone with Snapdragon 821 SoC Announced in China

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

With the flagship devices, Huawei is competing with the other major brands, and on the other hand, ZTE has launched few decent budget smartphones in the Western markets offering the best value for money specs. Last year, the company launched the ZTE Axon 7, the best smartphone in the Axon lineup. It came with the similar specifications as on the other flagship devices but is priced half of the what the others cost. Now in 2017, the company announced an upgraded variant called ZTE Axon 7s in China. As of now, there isn’t much information available about this device. The Axon 7s comes with Snapdragon 821 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 820 SoC.

It sports the same 5.5-inch AMOLED display as seen on the Axon 7 and might come with the same Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The Snapdragon 821 SoC will be accompanied with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The company has officially confirmed the Axon 7s to feature dual camera setup, but the camera resolutions are still unknown. While the company already released the Android 7.0 Nougat based MiFavor UI update for the Axon 7, the Axon 7s might come with the latest Android OS out of the box. Apart from the few improved internals, ZTE has mentioned to bring the enhanced security features with this new device.

Instead of the hardware or the software encryption, ZTE will be making the hardware, system, platform, & communication more secure through its intelligent encryption mode that breaks the limitations of other encryption models available in the market. With the new intelligent encryption mode, the company will be offering more comprehensive and secured space. The security chip used on this device comes certified by China’s National Password Authority. The fingerprint sensor on this device can be found on the rear. It comes with an all-metal unibody design along with a 2.5D glass on the front. From the above-featured image, we can see the redesigned top bezel grill.

The device is said to offer the real-time voice to text translation and supports 23 languages. It is mentioned to include intelligent voice function, which we expect it to be the in-house digital assistant. Recently, LeEco also announced its own voice-based digital assistant called as LeLe. The LeEco Le Pro 3 AI edition is the first smartphone to feature this new digital assistant. We expect the device to go on sale soon exclusively in China. With all these security features, we don’t expect the company to launch the Axon 7s in the U.S.
