Apple Watch 2 Battery Photo shows a Large Capacity at 334mAh, 2 versions to launch

Apple WatchOS 2

Apple is all set to host an event during the first week of September, and we may definitely see a new iPhone. Apart from upgrading the iPhone, the Cupertino giant is reportedly going to upgrade their wearable as well, i.e. Apple Watch. As we reported earlier that well-connected analyst Ming-chi Kuo got the information that we may be seeing two Apple Watch variants this year.

Apart from the specifications and details leaked about Apple Watch 2 since past couple of weeks, we are now hearing that the upgrade would indeed sport a large capacity battery. In a leaked image spotted on weibo of what appears to be a battery of Apple Watch 2, it is seen that 42mm wearable from Apple would be carrying a 334 mAh capacity battery.

Apple Watch 2 - Battery

Interestingly the brand is very particular about not disclosing the battery capacity on their devices. But it seems we may have got the battery information even before the launch of their wearable. Note that if the new battery is anything closer to this, then it would represent 35-36% increase in battery capacity from the first model. It had 246 mAh capacity on the same 42mm model of the smart timepiece.

Changing the battery capacity would definitely help Apple tackle the biggest issue consumers have had with their smartwatch. The September 7th might be the date when we get to know it all about the manufacturer’s new wearable.

Apple Watch 2 with GPS, Better Waterproofing, Faster Processor to Launch Soon

Do make a note that Apple is rumoured to make an announcement of two Apple Watch 2 variants. Both models would sport similar design aesthetics, but would have some features that would distinguish them easily. Such as GPS, barometer and even battery capacity. It could be possible that one model with GPS might sport larger capacity battery while other would sport smaller battery.

We recommend you take above information with a grain of salt. As nothing is confirmed from the Apple itself yet. Stay tuned in for more details as the event date nears. Who knows we may get some confirmation!
