Asus launches ZenPad 3 8.0 with 2K Display & Snapdragon 650 SoC

ASUS ZenPad 3 8.0

ASUS is doing very good with their smartphone line up. The company recently launched its range of ZenFone 3 smartphones which offers a variety of features in different price point. In terms of Tablets, they recently launched the ZenPad 3S 10. It sports a 2k display and offers very good specs for the price. On the same lines, the company also launched a new tablet now called the ZenPad 3 8.0.

The new ASUS ZenPad 3 8.0 comes with a 7.9-inch quadHD display again, with a resolution of 1536 x 2048. The Snapdragon 650 SoC is under the hood with a hexa-core 1.8GHz CPU. It packs the Adreno 510 GPU for graphics. As far as the camera is concerned, we are looking at an 8-megapixel rear facing camera and a 5-megapixel front facing shooter. There are two variants for this, with a 2GB RAM option which comes with 16GB internal storage and a 4GB RAM option, which comes with 32GB of internal storage. Both of them can be expanded up to a 128GB with the help of a microSD card.

The device is powered by a 4680 mAh battery, and the company claims that it gives up to 11 hours of battery life. Other hardware specs include a stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing. Well, looking at the specs it seems to be a decent device for the value. If you remember, the company also launched a tablet called the ASUS ZenPad Z8, which was exclusive to Verizon in the United States.

The newly launched ZenPad 3 8.0 and the ZenPad Z8 offers almost identical specs with just a minor difference. So the only difference between that and the newly launched ZenPad 3 8.0 is the RAM and the internal storage size. So if you just want a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, then you should probably go for the ZenPad Z8 and call it a day, since the new one will be priced on a higher side as compared to that one. We will get to know more about that in future since we don’t have any official pricing details of this new tablet. So stay tuned for info on this.
