Seeing craze of Reliance JIO among smartphone users in the country, the telecom operators reduced their internet data tariffs earlier this month. What started with private players such as Bharti Airtel, IDEA Cellular and Vodafone, is now heading to the government run telecom network, BSNL.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has today announced an unlimited national 3G mobile data plan for Rs 1,099. Looking at the JIO Preview Offer, which is now extended to all 4G smartphone owners without the need of code offers three months of 4G data and 4G Voice calling free. The new BSNL is not as alluring to the customers who are already fed up with their current telecom provider, may it be anyone.
Vodafone offers 67% more 4G, 3G Data to pre-paid Customers under same Price Packs
Though, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director, Anupam Shrivastava claims that BSL is gaining customers as it has improved its network coverage. Moreover, he touts that company is the first in the industry to offer unlimited 3G plan that is valid for nationwide. Mr Shrivastava believes that it will bring some enjoyment to it’s existing customers and help them experience better BSNL network.
It is reported that the government telecom firm added most number of subscribers in April as per data published by TRAI. The company has been on top for the third time in a row. As it added 11.39 lakh mobile subscribers followed by Aircel, Reliance Communications and others.
Countering the strategy of slashing internet tariffs by private players as they now offer up to 67% more benefit on their current data plans. BSNl announced today that they are doubling the data usage limit, i.e. FUP on their selected 3G data plans. Such as for Rs 549, earlier 5GB 3G data was allotted; now it is doubled to 10GB. This makes 100% increase in benefits against the 67% by private players.
