HTC Nexus Sailfish Smartphone with Full HD Display & Snapdragon 820 SoC Revealed

HTC-Nexus-Sailfish-S1

HTC is rumored to manufacturer two Nexus smartphones this year. The earlier leaks revealed the devices to be codenamed as Marlin and Sailfish. If the leaked images are to be believed, we already got the first look of the device, and the design looks lot more similar to the recently launched HTC 10. Today, Antutu had posted the benchmark screenshot revealing the few important specifications of the device.

As said earlier, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. Qualcomm had recently revealed the Snapdragon 821 chipset as an upgraded version of Snapdragon 820 and is said to offer 10% better performance. But HTC had opted for the Snapdragon 820 SoC over the Snapdragon 821 SoC. While the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the first smartphone to feature Snapdragon 821 SoC.

There is no information about the display size from Antutu, but GFXbench revealed it to be a 5-inch smartphone with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. So this could be the successor to Nexus 5X which also came with a 1080p display while Nexus 6P sports a Quad HD display. The flagship Qualcomm processor on the Sailfish will be accompanied by 4GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage on this device, and we don’t expect MicroSD card slot as we never seen an expandable option in the recent Nexus devices.

While the Nexus 5X came with the mid-range specifications, this year we can see both the Nexus devices to come with high-end specifications. On the camera front, there is a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera whereas the Nexus 5X came with a 12.3MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The device will be running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Apart from the Nexus devices, upcoming LG V20 is said to be the first device to launch with Android Nougat but comes with the UX UI laid on top.
