Meizu Mix with Sapphire Display is the company’s First Smartwatch
A couple of months back, Meizu, the Chinese smartphone brand, is on news as Qualcomm filed a case against it in the Chinese court over the 4G patent infringements. But it hasn’t stopped Meizu from launching decent smartphones. It had launched the mid-range Meizu MX6 and Meizu M3E smartphones in China. Yesterday we also saw the leaked image of the upcoming Pro smartphone from the company. It will be first Meizu device to feature dual curved display and dual camera setup on the back.
Apart from smartphones, the company is also rumoured to launch a smartwatch running on Alibaba’s YunOS. The rumours of the Meizu’s full-fledged smartwatch has been going on for quite a while now as a couple of weeks back the renders of the smart wearable leaked online, which was days before the August 10 Media event. Now we got complete details about the first ever smartwatch from Meizu, and it will be called as Meizu Mix.
It is now listed on the Chinese crowdsourcing site and comes with 42mm circular metal build dial protected by a Sapphite glass. It will be available in three different variants with Denim, Leather, and Metal Strip priced at999 Yuan, 1299 Yuan and 1499 Yuan respectively. The dial measures 12mm thickness and is waterproof upto 3ATM / 30 metres.
It also comes with Bluetooth 4.0 LE connectivity and includes 3-axis gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer sensors. The Meizu Mix runs on Alibaba’s YunOS which third largest mobile OS next to Android and iOS. It also powers IoT and Smart Automobiles. This Meizu launched the Meizu M3 and Meizu M3E smartphones running on Flyme UI based on YunOS. Meizu set a goal of 500,000 Yuan and is yet to go live.
