Micromax Canvas 5 Lite with 3GB RAM & Wooden Back Panel to Launch Soon
Micromax is the second largest Indian smartphone manufacturer, but the company’s market share has drastically decreased in the last few quarters. With the fierce competition from Chinese competition, Micromax came with few decent smartphone in 2016. According to our source, the company will launch a new smartphone called Micromax Canvas 5 Lite special edition that comes with the model number Q463. The device will be launched as cut down variant of Canvas 5 that was launched last year.
The Canvas 5 Lite sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by unknown quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz. There is 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded via MicroSD card slot. Though the company had recently launched smartphones with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Canvas 5 Lite still runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It includes several pre-installed bloatware apps where most of them can be uninstalled.
Talking about the cameras, there is an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter on the front. It is backed 2,000mAh battery that might give decent battery life with its less powerful specifications. As seen in the above featured image, the Canvas 5 Lite special edition comes with a wooden black panel which we are seeing for the first time from a local manufacturer. While the Canvas 5 with better Full HD Display, better cameras, and a larger battery is priced at Rs. 12,000; we can expect the device to be priced under Rs. 10,000.
As of now, there is no information about the exact launch date, but will be made official later this month. Recently Lenovo launched the Vibe K4 Note Wooden Edition in India priced at Rs. 11,499. The Vibe K4 Note was launched in India in January this year as the successor to popular Vibe K3 Note. While the Vibe K4 Note Wooden Edition is exclusively sold through Amazon India, the Canvas 5 Lite is expected to be sold through Flipkart. Stay tuned for official launch details!
