Lenovo Launches the Moto Z & Moto Z Play Smartphones in India along with the Moto Mods
Today Lenovo has launched the new Moto Z & the Moto Z Play smartphones under the Moto Z series at an event in India. The Moto Z and the Moto Z Force smartphones were unveiled at the Lenovo Tech World event in the month of June. And later at IFA 2016, the Moto Z Play was launched. Now after about a month, the company has finally launched the new Moto Z series smartphones here in India. These are the new flagship offerings from the company which offers some very interesting new features to the users.
Talking about the specs of the smartphones, the Moto Z comes with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display on the front and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC which is coupled with 4GB of RAM. The device comes in two variants i.e. with a 32GB and 64GB internal storage. Do make a note that both the smartphones offer microSD card expandability upto 2TB. In terms of the camera, we are looking at a 13-megapixel rear facing shooter with OIS and laser auto-focus. On the front, we have a 5-megapixel front facing selfie shooter along with a front facing flash as well.
The smartphone is kept powered by only 2,600 mAh battery with TurboPower charging. The reason for the less battery is mainly the form factor as the device measures only 5.2mm in thickness and is ultra-light. This is definitely going to be the USP of the smartphones. And do make a note that the device doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack just like the new iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus. If you are looking for a device with a better battery, then you should be taking the Moto Z Play into consideration.
The Moto Z Play smartphone features the same 5.5-inch display on the front but offers only FHD resolution. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This one has a better battery when compared to the Moto Z as this packs a 3,510 mAh battery. At the back, there is a 16-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel front facing selfie shooter. So basically if you are in the market for a new Moto smartphones, these two are the best ones out there.
And one of the most important features which makes both these smartphones unique is the fact that the company offers Moto Mods. Moto Mods are essentially different attachments which can be slapped to the back of the device, which connects to the device with the help of the magnets and transmit data through the smart connecting pins. There is a variety of different Moto Mods available in the market like the JBL SoundBoost, the Moto Insta-Share Projector and Battery pack as well for the adding extra battery back-up. They also launched a Hasselblad True Zoom later at IFA 2016.
Now coming to pricing and the availability of the devices, the Moto Z is priced at 39,999 INR & the Moto Z Play, on the other hand, is priced at 24,999 INR. Both the devices will be available starting 17th October via Amazon India and Flipkart. All the Moto Mods mentioned above will also be available to purchase separately which starts from 6,999 INR and goes all the way upto 19,999 INR. Stay tuned for more detailed info and other coverage on these devices soon.
