LG G6 with Metal body and LCD Panel in works, expected to launch in 2017
LG V20 is the newest offering from the company which will hit the stores with the latest and greatest Android 7.0 nougat OS. In India, the device is expected to launch sometime later this year. This smartphone is expected to do good in the market as the LG G5 was not quite promising. The LG G5 was indeed a great smartphone, but it had it’s own issues which made it far from the first option to buy in the market.
And we wait for the LG V20 to hit the Indian market, we now have some new reports claiming some interesting new leaks about the upcoming new flagship from the company. Earlier, we heard a lot of rumours stating that the device will come with a curved OLED display on the front. It’s been quite some time since we heard anything about the device later and now it looks like the company is about to drop the idea of the curved OLED panels.
According to the new reports, the company will ditch the curved OLED panels and go for the conventional LCDs. This is not deal breaker by any means since the previous one i.e. the LG G5 also came with an LCD panel. But the idea of having an OLED display makes a lot of sense especially when you have features like the Always on display. Features like those would go well only when you have an OLED since only the pixels required will lit up and not the entire display. Well, it looks like this year also we will be stuck with the LCD panels.
The reason for the same has been reported as the inability of LG Display subsidiary to meet the demand of these components. Also, another interesting fact here is that the new LG G6 may come with a metal body. So it looks like all the LG fans are in for a treat, this time, around with the new LG G6 as it will supposedly sport some new design. And not just that, it is also reported that the company’s officials are working on a proprietary magnetic resonance wireless charging as well. This will allow users to charge multiple smartphones at the same time.
Well, looking at all these features, it looks like we are going to have something very different from the company. This doesn’t mean that the current offerings are not good, as the LG V20 is still very good at what it does and it will get a good response in the Indian market, since the V10 wasn’t launched in InIDA. However, do make a note that all these are just rumours and we don’t have any official confirmation on any of this info. So we suggest you to take this info with a pinch of salt and wait for more confirmation as we will definitely update once we have more disclosure on this smartphone from LG. Stay tuned to Phone Radar for more detailed info on this device.
