From the last few months, we are seeing numerous leaks and rumors about the Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone Mi Note 2. The company launched its predecessors Mi Note and Mi Note Pro in China in January 2015. The latest leaks suggest the device to launch on October 25th in China and today; the company released the teasers confirming the same. We can expect two variants of the Mi Note 2 to be unveiled on the launch day. One variant comes with the regular flat screen while the other variant will feature dual curved display as seen on Samsung Galaxy Note 7. LG is said to supply the dual curved displays to Xiaomi. Soon LeEco is also rumored to launch the smartphone with the dual curved display.

The Mi Note 2 will come powered by the Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It is said to be 10% powerful the Snapdragon 820 processor. It will be available in 4GB & 6GB RAM variants with 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage options. The Mi 5S Plus came with under the glass fingerprint sensor which uses the Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint technology. As of now, there is no information whether the Mi Note 2 will sport the similar fingerprint sensor. The variant with the flat display will come with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution whereas the other variant with the curved display is said to feature Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Last month, the company launched two new high-end smartphones Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus in China. The Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus sports 5.15-inch and 5.7-inch displays respectively with Full HD display resolution. Both the devices are powered by the latest Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor. The Mi 5S is launched with 3GB and 4GB of RAM, and the Mi 5s Plus came with 4GB and 6GB RAM variants. On the camera front, the Mi 5S sports a 12MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF and the selfie camera on the front comes with 4MP sensor with the same f/2.0 aperture. Talking about the cameras on Mi 5s Plus, it sports dual camera setup on the rear with 13MP sensor.

The selfie camera on this device is same as on Mi 5S. Earlier to this, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Pro smartphone with dual rear cameras where there is a 13MP image sensor and a 5MP depth sensor for bokeh effects. The Mi Note 2 is also rumored to feature dual 12MP cameras on the rear. While the Redmi Pro or the Mi 5s Plus aren’t yet launched in foreign markets, we guess Mi Note 2 to be the first dual camera smartphone from Xiaomi to be available outside of China. The Mi 5s is backed by a 3,200mAh battery, and the Mi 5s Plus came with a slightly larger 3,800mAh battery. Both the devices support Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging.

Even though there are few devices launched with Android 7.0 Nougat, it is too early to expect the Xiaomi to release MIUI update based on the latest Android Nougat. The Mi Note 2 will be launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8 out of the box. Since all the specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi device aren’t officially confirmed, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for the official details and pricing of the device.
