Facebook’s Messenger Camera offers Snapchat like 3D Special Effects, Stickers & Masks

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Facebook Messenger just announced a new product and it is just another Snapchat clone. Yes, the Facebook Messenger now has a new camera which packs a lot of features that are already there in Snapchat. With the help of this new camera features, users can now add real-time masks and effects to the selfie, add stickers and emojis, etc to the photos and the video which they want to capture. Well, this is yet another bold move from the company to pretty much copy or imitate the rival in other words. According to the company this product is rolling out globally for both iOS and Android starting today.

If you aren’t familiar with Snapchat, these features like real-time filters/effects or adding stickers and emojis, etc have been there in Snapchat for a long time now. In fact, these are some of the features which make Snapchat so popular among the users. And this act of imitating the rival actually is a surprise from a service which is one of the most used pieces of software with over 1 billion monthly active users. With this move, the company is further trying to encourage their users to use their service and completely abandon the rival’s service. Not sure how that is going to work out since Snapchat has been there around for a long time now and it offers some of the coolest features.

As a matter of fact, this is not the first time we are seeing something like this from Facebook. Back in the month of August, Instagram also came up with something called as Instagram stories which is yet another copy of the Snapchat stories. With this feature, users will be able to capture a photo and share it instantly with the world by adding a caption/ doodle, etc. And now the Instagram app was again updated where it allows you to send the stories personally to select users as well if you want to. But there are other subtle improvements here with the Instagram Stories against the rival like the ability to add multiple ‘props’ to your images and create your own mask etc.

Updating..
