Huawei Nova Lite, P8 Lite 2017 & Honor 8 Lite are the Same Devices for Different Markets
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
A week back, the Honor 8 Lite was officially launched in Finland as the younger sibling to the Honor 8. Unlike the Honor 8, the Honor 8 Lite comes with a single rear camera. However, the design looks similar with the 2.5D glass laid on front and back of the device. Interestingly, the company is also selling the same Honor 8 Lite as Huawei Nova Lite & P8 Lite 2017 to cater different markets. The Nova Lite will join the Huawei Nova series that was unveiled at the IFA 2016. On the other hand, the P8 Lite 2017 will be the successor to the Huawei P8 Lite that was launched in 2015. Last year, we even saw the launch of P9 Lite which came with few similar specifications as on the P8 Lite 2017.
The Honor 8 Lite is already launched in Finland, and the Huawei P8 Lite 2017 is on sale in few European countries including Germany. As of now, there is no information about the availability of the Huawei Nova Lite, but it is expected to be available soon in Canada. The devices come in White, Gold, and Black color options. The Honor 8 Lite additionally comes in Blue color. From the above image, we can see the volume rocker and the power button on the right edge of the device. As seen with the Honor 8, these three devices also feature the circular fingerprint sensor on the rear. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the latest EMUI 5.0 on top.
The devices come with a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution display. Even the Honor 8 also came with the same display. Under the hood is the Kirin 655 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. We also expect the company to launch the device with different RAM and storage configurations. In the camera department, there will be a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP fixed focus front camera with wide-angle lens. It measures 137.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm and weighs 147 grams.
In India, the company recently launched the mid-range Honor 6X smartphone equipped with dual lens camera. It is priced at Rs. 12,999 and is sold exclusively through Amazon India. The device sports a slightly larger 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution and is backed by the same Kirin 655 SoC. The USP of the device is its dual lens camera featuring 12MP and 2MP sensors. The device captures some good images and gives the DSLR-like bokeh effect. The user can focus on the object even after the image is captured. Honor is also offering the manual setting for the both the photos and videos.
The 8MP front camera on the Honor 6X can capture decent selfies. It also includes a 3,340mAh battery that can give almost 23 hours of talk time. Unlike the Honor 8 Lite or the Nova Lite, the Honor 6X comes with a metal built body. As of now, the device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1, and the Nougat based EMUI 5.0 is mentioned to be released next month. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
