360 N5s Smartphone with 6GB RAM & Dual Front Cameras Launched at Rs. 16,000

Qihoo 360, the Chinese smartphone brand launched its latest smartphone called 360 N5s today in China. It is an upgraded variant of the earlier launched 360 N5. The Micromax’s costliest smartphone, Dual 5 is the rebranded variant of one of the 360 smartphones. From the design perspective, the 360 N5s looks similar to the recently launched Honor 8 Lite. Following the trend of other Chinese companies, the Qihoo 360 also made the 360 N5s a selfie-centric device by including dual front cameras. It comes with a glossy finish back body featuring 2.5D curved glass on front and back of the device.
On the front is a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and offers a pixel density of 401 PPI. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 653 (MSM8976Pro) octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. The device includes 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage along with the MicroSD card slot for storage expansion additionally up to 128GB. Earlier to this, few other Chinese brands also offered 6GB of RAM on their mid-range devices. It runs on the highly customized 360 OS 2.0 which was recently upgraded to the latest Android 7.1 Nougat.
In the camera department, the 360 N5s sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and LED flash. The camera app also includes the manual mode for capturing better images by tweaking the settings. For selfies, there is a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the front. Using the dual front camera, the user can get DLSR-like bokeh effect while capturing selfies. The device derives its juice from the 3,730mAh non-removable battery that also supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging with the 9V/2A (18W) power adapter.
The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity on anyone SIM. It measures 153.5 x 76.9 x 8.0 and weighs 170 grams. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB OTG, 3.5mm Audio port, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. Beneath the display are the three capacitive navigation buttons, and the fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device. The volume rocker and power button on the right edge come with a textured finish. On the left side edge is the hybrid SIM slot where the user can insert two SIM cards or a single SIM card and a MicroSD card.
With all these specifications, the 360 N5s costs 1699 Yuan (approx $245 / Rs. 16,000) and comes in Black and Blue color options. The pre-orders start from May 27th, and sales begin from June 2nd. Considering the earlier launched 360 smartphones, we don’t expect the company will launch the 360 N5s in foreign markets.
