Honor 6A Smartphone with 5″ HD Display & 13MP Camera Launched at Rs. 7,500

Honor, the affordable smartphone brand from the house of Huawei has unveiled a new entry-level smartphone called Honor 6A today in China. Though the design and specifications of the device are already known with the TENAA listing, today we got the confirmation from its official launch. It comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants priced at 799 Yuan (approx $115 / Rs. 7,500) and 999 Yuan (approx $145 / Rs. 9,400) respectively. The device will be available in Silver and Gold color options. Even at this low price, the device comes with unibody metal design.

The Honor 6A sports a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. While the 2GB RAM variant includes 16GB of internal storage, the 3GB RAM variant has doubled storage of 32GB capacity. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to another 128GB. It runs on the latest EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The new EMUI 5.1 comes with additional features like app cloning where the user can have two WhatsApp accounts on one single device.

On the rear, there is also a circular fingerprint sensor that is mentioned to unlock the device in just 0.5 seconds. The fingerprint sensor can also be used as a shutter button when the camera app is opened. We can swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to see the notification panel. The Honor 6A sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, 5P lens, 28mm wide angle lens, and LED flash. For selfies, there is a 5MP shooter on the front with built-in beauty mode. It also supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid slot where the user can choose between secondary SIM or the MicroSD.

The Honor 6A is backed by a 3,020mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 19 hours of talk time and lasts up to 363 hours on standby. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. It measures 143.7 × 70.95 × 8.2 mm and weighs 143 grams. The device is now available to pre-order, and the sales start from May 25th only in China. As of now, there is no information about the launch of this device in the foreign markets.
