You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Motorola is expected to soon launch the second-gen Moto Z devices. We already got most of the information about the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Play from the several leaks. Now, the Moto Z2 Play (XT1710-08) is listed on TENAA confirming the earlier leaks. While the Moto Z2 is expected to come with a dual camera setup, the Moto Z2 Play settles with a single sensor on the rear. As seen on the first-gen Moto Z devices, the Moto Z Play also has the 16-pin setup on the bottom rear of adding the Moto Mods. Since the Moto Mods need to fit for all the Moto Z devices, there is not much change in the design of the device.
There is a large circular camera module on the rear which holds the camera and dual tone LED flash. The front camera also comes accompanied with the dual tone LED flash. Beneath the display is the oval shaped fingerprint sensor. The Antenna band is placed all around the rear of the device. On the right edge, we can spot the volume rocker and power button. It sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz, we expect this to be the newly announced Snapdragon 660 SoC.
It comes coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a MicroSD card slot. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with minor tweaks to the UI. Talking about the cameras, there is a 12MP primary camera on the rear and a 5MP secondary camera on the front for selfies. As seen with the earlier launched, the Moto Z2 Play also comes with a smaller 2,820mAh battery and might support Turbo Charge fast charging technology. It measures 156.2 x 76.2 x 5.99 mm and weighs 145 grams. Even the last year’s Moto Mods can be used with this upcoming device.
Apart from the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Play, the company will also launch the Moto Z2 Force featuring a shatterproof display. It is said to sport Snapdragon 835 SoC and will support 1Gbps download speeds via Gigabit LTE modem. Earlier this week, the company also launched its most affordable smartphone Moto C and Moto C Plus with a polycarbonate shell. These devices come with very basic specifications and will start retailing from just €89. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for the official launch date of the Moto Z2 smartphones.
