Nokia 9 Smartphone with Snapdragon 835 SoC & Dual-lens Camera Leaked
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
A few days back, Evan Blass posted a video revealing two new Nokia smartphones alongside the already launched Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. One of the two unknown devices even sports dual camera setup on the rear. But, now we got new images of yet an unknown Nokia device (codenamed as Heart) that looks similar to the dual camera device from the earlier leaked video. The newly leaked device is suggested to be the upcoming Nokia 9 and seems to feature flagship specifications. Much like recently launched flagship devices, the Nokia 9 also comes with a metal frame featuring 2.5D curved glass on the front and back.
Beneath the display, there is a rectangular home button with integrated fingerprint sensor. There are also two capacitive navigation buttons on either side of the home button. On the rear, there is a long camera module holding two camera sensors, a laser autofocus, and a dual tone LED flash. The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge of the device. While major manufacturers are skipping the 3.5mm audio port on their flagship devices, the Nokia 9 features one on the top edge. The USB Type-C port and loudspeaker can be spotted on the bottom edge.
Talking about the specifications, the Nokia 9 sports a 5.27-inch display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. We expect the company to use the AMOLED panel instead of the regular IPS panel on this device. It comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor built on the 10nm FinFET process and comes coupled with Adreno 540 GPU and Gigabit LTE modem. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage on this device. However, there is no information about the inclusion of MicroSD card slot.
It should be running on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with the slightly tweaked UI laid on top. In early January, an unknown Nokia device with the same codename as mentioned above is spotted on the benchmarking website, GFXbench. It sports entry-level specifications like a 5.2-inch HD display, Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. At that time, it is mentioned to run on Android 7.0 Nougat. Even the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 smartphones announced at the MWC 2017 will be running on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
Since there is no official confirmation, take the specifications of the Nokia 9 with a pinch of salt. The Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 are expected to go on sale in the next few weeks. Though there is no trusted source, the Nokia 9 might be launched alongside the Nokia 8 in the second half of 2017. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details, as we expect more leaks to follow soon.
