NuAns Neo Reloaded Smartphone with Android 7.1 Nougat OS Now Listed on Indiegogo

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

A few months back, we have covered about the unveiling of the Android-powered NuAns Neo Reloaded smartphone in Japan. At that time, the company announced to make the device available exclusively in Japan in May. Now, the company has chosen to crowdsource for making the NuAns Neo Reloaded available for the global audience. The device is now listed on the Indiegogo with a target of $370,000. Under the ‘Super Early Bird’ offer, the interested ones can get the NuAns Neo Reloaded smartphone along with one TwoTone back case or Flip Case for just $360 (approx Rs. 23,000). Apart from the good specifications, the customizable body makes the NuAns Neo Reloaded a standout product. Check out the campaign listing for other offers and also the cellular band support.

Earlier: February 21st, 2017 – The Japanese smartphone manufacturer, NuAns last year launched the NuAns Neo smartphone in Japan. It grabbed a lot of attention with its design, the company various back panel options for the user to choose. The top and bottom half of the back panels can be chosen by the customer while ordering the device. As they are easily swappable, the user gets many options to choose from. While everything looks good, the Windows 10 Mobile OS made the device limited to very few consumers. Almost a year after its announcement, the company realized the mistake and now announced the NuAns Neo Reloaded that runs on Android 7.1 Nougat instead of the Windows 10 Mobile.

Talking about the specifications, the device sports a 5.2-inch LCD display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It comes protected by Dragontrail Pro glass on top. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 625 MSM8953 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GOU and 3GB of RAM. It also packs 32GB of onboard storage that can be expanded upto additional 1TB. It runs on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box offering stock Android experience. There is a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. On the front is an 8MP autofocus camera with the f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls. As it is from Japan, we can’t expect to see them lacking IP certification.

The NuAns Neo Reloaded comes with IP54 certification making it both water and dust resistant. It also supports NFC making the device usable for mobile payments. With all these specifications, the device is backed by a 3,450mAh battery that is rated to deliver 15 hours of talk time and lasts up to 335 hours on standby mode. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0 with the USB 23.0 Type-C port. The device also supports dual SIM dual standby. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB OTG, and 3.5mm Audio port. Under the swappable back cover is the polycarbonate body. We hope the companies decision to ditch Windows OS in favor of Android might work well.

We can find the fingerprint sensor on the right edge of the device. Even with the decent specifications and unique design, the NuAns Neo failed to complete crowdsourcing project. But with the Android onboard, the process will be much simpler, and the company might also see great sales in the foreign markets as well. This new device will be available starting from May 2017 for a price of ¥49,800 (approx $440 / Rs. 30,000). Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
