Reliance Jio 4G Dhan Dhana Dhan Cheaper than Airtel Broadband Plans

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Ever since Reliance Jio started rolling out its various different tariff plans in the country, many people have decided to get rid of their broadband connection at homes in favor of the Jio 4G services. One of the most important reasons being how cost effective the Jio 4G is in comparison to the various broadband connection. This also holds true in comparison to other mobile networks also. We recently did a comparison between Reliance Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan offer and Vodafone’s new plans also to check out which is better. And now today, we will be comparing Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer with Airtel‘s broadband connection plan and see if it makes sense to have Airtel broadband connection instead of Jio.

Do make a note that the plans for your region may differ than the ones which we have selected here for the comparison but they are more or less the same for the most part. For the sake of this comparison, let’s do a quick comparison between Airtel’s 899 INR broadband plan and the Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. We will be comparing Jio’s 309 INR Dhan Dhana Dhan plan with Airtel’s 899 INR broadband plan.

According to Airtel’s website, the 899 INR broadband is valid for 30 days. And as you probably already know that Jio’s Dhan Dhana Offer is valid for 84 days. Airtel’s broadband connection offers 60GB of data per month where’as Jio’s DDD offer has 1GB/ day plan which translates to about 28GB per month in theory. However, Airtel has a FUP of a 60GB post which your speed will be reduced to 512kbps for the rest of the days until you decide to refresh the plan. In Jio’s case, post 1GB your speeds will go down to 128kbps until it is refreshed the next day.

So if you do a fair comparison, then if you get the same broadband plan for 3 months, you will get 180GB in 3 months whereas Jio is offering 84GB for 3 months. However, Airtel’s broadband will cost you 899 INR per month whereas Jio’s DDD will cost only 103 INR per month since it is 309 INR for 84 days. So if you do a quick math, then you will know that it will cost you 14.98 INR per GB of data with Airtel’s broadband whereas it only costs 3.68 INR with Jio’s DDD offer.

Also, Airtel’s 499 INR 4G prepaid plan is better than their Broadband plan in theory. You can check out the above table to know more about that. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Are you still using a broadband plan or have you already moved to Jio 4G network.
