Lumia Camera UI Might Soon Return To The Nokia Smartphones

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

Nokia has launched a couple of new smartphones in the market under the HMD Global ownership. The Finnish company HMD Global acquired many of Microsoft‘s design patents as well. Nokia had given rights to use its name for any smartphones, tablets or feature phones, etc. Naturally, Microsoft still holds a lot of patent rights and trademarks.

However, now that HMD Global has acquired the rights to sell the Nokia phones, a lot of patents have also been transferred to HMD Global and we are looking close to 500 patents. Do make a note that Microsoft still holds the trademarks for PureView, ClearBlack and PureMotion technologies. But HMD Globals got their hands on a lot of these patents and they should be able to put them to use and make their products even better.

One such patent that has been recently transferred to HMD global for the Lumia Camera UI. Now, for those of you who don’t know, the Lumia camera UI was quite popular at the time when it was officially launched. In fact, the camera and the UI, both added a great value to the overall user experience of the smartphone those days. And now, HMD Global can definitely put this to a good use and make their upcoming as well as the existing devices better by providing a good camera UI.

All the Nokia smartphone that is out right now, lacks a good camera interface. And this option can certainly put an end to that issue. We hope this comes in handy. And as mentioned earlier, it should not be an issue whatsoever, to implement the same UI with the existing smartphones as well. And hence we hope the current ones also include the same UI. But there’s one more thing to consider here.

Technically, Lumia brand still belongs to Microsoft and hence, if the Nokia phones will come with the UI, it might be installed under a different name. As of now, there is no info as to what that name could be, but we hope the UI makes its way to the Nokia phones really soon. Let us know your thoughts on this by dropping a comment down below.
