Xiaomi Introduces The Mi AI Speaker In China, Priced At 299 Chinese Yuans
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Xiaomi launched the new Mi 5X smartphone in China. We have already covered everything about it in detail here. However, the company also launched a few other devices along with it and one such device is the new Mi AI speaker. Well, as the name suggests, it is exactly like the other smart speakers available in the market. However, do make a note that it is the company’s first take on this.
This new AI powered speaker from Xiaomi is powered by artificial intelligence and it is pretty much the same one which they have now added to their mobile OS as well with the new version. This new speaker can be used as a control for Xiaomi products and also the smart products from Xiaomi’s one-hundred-plus partners. According to the company, there is a ton of content available for the product which includes a variety of different music, audio books, kids stories, and radio.
Now talking about the device it self, it looks very similar to the recently launched range of Xiaomi Air purifiers. But the speaker will be much smaller in size as compared to the larger air purifiers. All the music playback controls for this speakers are located at the top. This speaker has 360-degree audio sensing which has been made possible with the help of six microphones. The speaker has two audio drivers and according to the company, these are of excellent audio quality.
It has been reported that this speaker can also be connected to other services through plugins, which allows for a lot of great functionalities like the ability to take calls, receive notification alerts and reminders, calendar events, etc. Looking at all these different features, the speaker does look like a great alternative to some other options like Google Home, etc.
The highlight of the product is, however, the pricing. The Mi AI speaker will retail in China for just 299 RMB which roughly translates to about $45 or 3000 INR. However, if you are planning on buying one for yourself, then be sure to book a return ticket to China since it is highly possible that this product may never exit China. Having said that, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this.
