Xiaomi Mi 6 Mercury Silver Edition to go on sale from August 3 for RMB 3999

The flagship of Xiaomi this year is Mi 6 which was launched 3 months back in its home country China and is also the successor of the Mi5. Now the company has decided to launch the Mercury Silver Edition of the Mi 6 (6GB+128GB) on 3rd of August for RMB 3999 (approx $592). There will be no changes in the specs sheet but the device will come with a chrome finished back which looks like a mirror but the front side of the handset will be remaining Black. Xiaomi which is regarded as Apple of China will sell only 100 units of this handset and can be bought only in China.

Coming to the device, the Mi 6 comes powered with Qualcomm’s latest processor Snapdragon 835 which is the same that was used in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices with a clocking speed of 2.45GHz coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. The device sports a 5.15-inch sunlight FHD display with a pixel resolution of 428PPI and also comes with 600nit of brightness. The Chinese variant of this device is also certified from National Eye Center for reducing the harmful blue light.

The handset sports a 6GB RAM and is available in 64GB and 128GB storage variants although the new Mercury Silver Edition will be available only on 128GB option along with 6GB RAM. There is a non-removable 3350mAh battery that supports fast charging technology. On the rear, we can find a 12MP wide-angle lens accompanied with a 12MP telephoto lens which offers four axis OIS and 2x optical lossless zoom along with 10x digital zoom with ISP algorithm. There is also an 8MP selfie camera with many smart filters.

The connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, NFC, MIMO, and USB type-C 3.0 port for charging. The improved NFC on this device comes with 30 percent faster payment transactions via Alipay and WeChat applications. There are only 100 units of it so need to be really quick to grab one.
