New Sony G8341 Smartphone With Snapdragon 835 SoC Appears On GeekBench
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Sony is rumored to be working on a couple of new smartphones. These are devices are expected to debut in a couple of months, possibly at IFA 2017. There is not a lot of info available about them, however, we have now spotted a new Sony device on Geekbench. This device which we have spotted on Geekbench carries the model number G8341.
Previously we had a few rumors which said that Sony is working on two new smartphones with model numbers G8341 and G8441. It has been brought to our notice that the G8341 will be launching as Xperia XZ1 and the G8441 will be launching as Xperia XZ1 Compact. And now out of the two, we have spotted the G8341 on Geekbench website. The benchmark listing does not give us much info about the device, however, it just gives us an idea of what to expect from these devices.
According to the benchmark listing, this new Sony G8341 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and 4GB of RAM. It appears to be running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat as well, which is pretty much the most recent version of Android that is available out there in the market. Since it is a benchmark listing, we do have few scores. This new Sony G8341 scored 1909 in single-core, whereas the multi-core score is 6459. Well, that is all the info that is available right now, from the benchmark listing.
However, few of the previously rumored specs of this smartphone tells us that this device will sport a 5.2-inch FHD display and it will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. But other than that, there is not a lot of info available to us about it. And talking about the rumors of the Xperia XZ1 Compact, it looks like it will be powered by Android 8.0 out of the box. This is in fact, the first smartphone that we know about, which will be running Android 8.0 out of the box (other than Pixel 2, obviously). But with that said, we hope these two new devices will be launched by Sony very soon, possibly at IFA 2017 as mentioned earlier. Sony has already announced that they will be holding an event and hence we hope they will be launching it. Let us know your thoughts on this by leaving a comment down below.
