Samsung in Talks to Make its Samsung Pay Available for non-Samsung Smartphones
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Samsung Pay was initially available only to high-end or flagship devices from the company but later it was pushed to mid-range devices also, only with a restricted Mini iteration. Samsung Pay is a digital wallet service that is provided by the South Korean Giant via mobile which lets its user make payments like the Apple Pay and Android Pay. The service was started in 2015, August in the companies home country and was expanded eventually. Now Samsung is planning to bring Pay Mini to non-Samsung devices what includes iOS, Windows, and other Android smartphones.
There are talks about the possibility of including Samsung Pay on to high-end devices from various companies and Samsung is also trying to make this service available for every Samsung user as the upcoming handsets will be featuring all the required hardware to enable MST technology which lets a compatible device work with any POS machine even though they do not have NFC support on the device.
Samsung is already talking with various smartphone makers but even those handset have to feature the required hardware to make Samsung Pay work. The company has also been thinking to make an accessory which will let the users of the un-supported device also use the Samsung Pay services but at the end of the day, it should also be feasible to them. What ever happens in this case, if they try and cooperate with other smartphone makers to support Samsung Pay on their devices or make some accessories, it is going to take some time to bring that into reality.
Although Samsung Pay is only limited to Samsung devices, for now, it is already the second most used digital wallet which is headed by Apple Pay and is followed by Android Pay. We need to see how Samsung is going to work towards achieving this. Samsung Pay is based on Samsung Knox security and also ARM TrustZone technologies and in its home country, it can be used to withdraw money from selected ATMs. Well, we will get back to you once we get more information on this and do comment in the section if you have more queries.
