Xiaomi Mi 7 Smartphone With Snapdragon 820 SoC & 3GB RAM Spotted On GFXBench

You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has just launched the new Mi 5X smartphone in China. The smartphones sport a decent set of specs for the price at which it is being offered at. They also launched the Mi 6 smartphone a few months back and now it looks like the company is working on launching the new Mi 7 smartphone. Yes, a smartphone from Xiaomi has now been spotted on the GFXBench and the listing says it is the Mi 7 smartphone.

Taking a look at the listing, we can see that the Mi 7 is said to sport a 5.1-inch display on the front with a resolution of 1980 x 1080. Internally, it looks like the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. This is quite surprising to see since the Snapdragon 820 is particularly old and considering the fact that Mi 7 would be the flagship for the company, this makes absolutely no sense. Also, this is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is again a bummer since we already have smartphones with 8GB of RAM out there.

In terms of the optics, we are looking at a 16MP rear-facing shooter and on the front, there is a 4MP selfie snapper. The listing says that this device is running on Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI software. But as mentioned earlier, this doesn’t appear to be a flagship smartphone, at least that’s what the GFXBench listing indicates. Having said that, we suggest you take this info with a pinch of salt since the listing could be wrong.

This could very well be some other smartphone from the company or maybe just some test unit since the specs don’t match up the expectations from the company’s flagship like the Mi 6, etc. Talking about the Mi 6, it is worth noticing that the Mi 6 has a really good internal specs for a flagship smartphone. It also has a really appealing look to it, which makes it look premium. However, with all that being said, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Do you think this could be the company’s flagship smartphone, the Mi 7? Let us know your thoughts on this by dropping a comment down below.
