WhatsApp Beta Update For Windows Phone Lets You Have Verified Business Profile
You are reading a story from PhoneRadar.
Just two back, we had reported about WhatsApp stats, where the company had reported that over a billion users use the service on a daily basis. You can check out the numbers in detail here, however, today we have a new report about the service, which hints at new features that a future might bring to the table. According to the new reports which we have, WhatsApp for Windows Phone received a new beta update and this particular update brings in one small change, which hints at a new future capability of the app.
Yes, WhatsApp has updated its app for Windows Phone to version 2.17.234. WhatsApp will not allow using a check mark character in their profile name. Yes, this might not sound like a huge deal but it indeed hints towards a new feature. It will not allow users to use this icon because it plans to use it to denote business profile, which will be verified. Hence, this means that WhatsApp has plans to include business profiles in order to able to help them directly connect with their customers, etc.
It has been reported that this feature will be available for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone users. It looks like businesses will have to download and use a separate app from WhatsApp called Small and Medium Business, in order to communicate with its subscribers. However, the subscribers, i.e. the users won’t have to deal with any separate app like this.
This will certainly open up a lot of possibilities. For instance, an airline can pass along information on a delayed flight to the passenger through WhatsApp and let them know about the situation. This is only one example and we can think about a countless number of possibilities like this. This is definitely going to be a great update and we believe this will help a lot of users to easily connect with their customers.
Talking about the availability, we have no as to when the other app will be available. However, since this new beta update hit the Windows Phone, we believe the update will roll out soon. Having said that, we would like to know your thoughts on this. Be sure to let us know by leaving a comment down below.
