HTC U11 Plus with 18:9 Bezel-less Display & 6GB RAM to Launch in November

Just yesterday, Google and HTC signed on the $1.1 billion worth agreements and the HTC team worked on the Google Pixel devices will now officially join the Google. Now, we got few key details about the upcoming flagship smartphone from HTC. In the next couple of months, HTC will launch the HTC U11 Plus as the successor to earlier launched HTC U11. This new device comes with the codename Ocean Master. Last month, a few leaks revealed a new smartphone codenamed as Ocean Life to be the mid-range HTC U11 Life.
Talking about the HTC U11 Plus, this device will be first from HTC to offer 18:9 display. Samsung and LG are first to offers such a long aspect ratio. Next month, Google and Huawei will be bringing their latest flagship smartphones with the 18:9 displays. The HTC U11 Plus will also offer higher screen-to-body ratio with thinner bezels. If the rumors are to be believed, the U11 Plus might sport a 5.99-inch display with Quad HD+ resolution. The squeezable “Edge Sense” feature with also present on this device and the user can squeeze the frame to access certain features.
As seen on the original HTC U11, the new U11 Plus will also come powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 built on a 10nm FinFET process. It will be available in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB & 128GB storage options. In the camera department, the smartphone might offer a 12MP camera on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front. The device will also come with IP68 certification, making it water and dust resistant. We expect the device to come with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo based Sense UI out of the box.
While there is no information about the battery capacity, it is mentioned to support Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 fast charging technology. The HTC U11 Plus will also miss the 3.5mm audio port and the user can connect their headsets only using the USB Type-C port. Talking about the availability, the HTC U11 Plus is expected to launch in November in China and there are very little chances for seeing this device in the Western markets.
